10th Judicial District Attorney General Steve Bebb says he is ready to take on those seeking to remove him from office.

According to published reports, a state House investigative panel will recommend House Speaker Beth Harwell appoint a committee to come up with specific charges seeking Bebb's removal from office when the Tennessee General Assembly begins its next legislative session in January.

Bebb has been under fire since a series of investigative reports in the Chattanooga Times Free Press began a year ago raised questions about his ethics and competence as the top prosecutor for Monroe, McMinn, Polk and Bradley counties.

Bebb has held his tongue at times, not responding to every report. However, the district attorney general said Thursday he his ready to take on his accusers and limited his statement to that.

"I am ready for a hearing," Bebb told The Advocate & Democrat. "Bring your witnesses and I will bring mine."
