A trial date has been set in a case
where a man claims he was never paid overtime by the Madisonville
Ingles.
The lawsuit was filed in April in U.S.
District Court by Nathan Gilliard, who said he has been a co-manager
of the Madisonville store since January 2008 and that he regularly
worked more than 40 hours a week and was never paid for it.
In his lawsuit, Gilliard said his
duties during this time included maintaining control, oversight and
direction of the store, including payroll and indicated other
employees also worked under the same conditions. Ingles said this
claim was invalid, as he identified no other employees in his
lawsuit.
Gilliard is asking for all his unpaid
wages, an additional 100 percent as liquidated damages, pre and post
judgment interest, as provided by law, attorney's fees and costs
and any other relief deemed just and proper by the court. See full story in the Wednesday, Oct. 31, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
