SWEETWATER-Renovations at Brown Intermediate School and the construction of a new administration building for the Sweetwater City School System are picking up pace.

Director of Schools Dr. Melanie Miller gave Sweetwater Board of Education members Dr. John Fox, Letha Oggs, Bennie Moser, Janie Dacus and Chairman Richard Rowe an update on the projects during Monday's School Board meeting.

"Both projects are moving very quickly," Miller said.

The emphasis has been at Brown School, which is getting its front office remodeled, enclosed walkways and a new cooler added for the lunchroom.

But the brick work has sped along at the new administration building with both projects targeted to be done by early 2013.
