MADISONVILLE-It started with a fight in
the Walmart parking lot and ended with a man threatening to kill
himself in a shot up truck.
Madisonville Sgt. Chris Wilburn said it
was just before 9:30 p.m. Friday night when he responded to the
Walmart parking lot fight and saw the victim lying on the ground.
Wilburn said witnesses told him the person responsible was pulling
out of the parking lot in a silver Dodge Durango.
Wilburn tried to stop the truck, but it
kept going and he chased it onto Highway 411 and then onto Ball Play
Road. Wilburn said the chase reached speeds of 100 mph and he
eventually terminated the chase when the driver, later identified as
Andrew Paul Craig, 34, of Madisonville, began trying to run other
cars off the road.
The victim was identified as Douglas
Dale Perry, who was reported to have a wound to the side of his head.
Madisonville Officer Kevin Standridge said Craig's ex-girlfriend
and Walmart security cameras confirmed Craig as the suspect. See full story in the Wednesday, Oct. 17, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
