VONORE-A long planned city park in
Vonore will be taking a giant leap forward Monday when town leaders
go to Nashville to receive a $250,000 grant check from the Tennessee
Department of Environment and Conservation.
Alderman Dave Evans made the
announcement of the grant during the Mayor and Aldermen's October
meeting, saying the money will be used to finish walking trails and
clean the park up, among other things.
"A lot of people helped out with
getting this grant," Evans said, "including Mayor (Larry) Summey
and Lowell Russell. They'll be part of representing the city Monday
when we get the check in Nashville." See full story in the Sunday, Oct. 14, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
