The Tellico Bears will look to win
their first game on the road in 2012, as they head to Rockwood to
face the Tigers. After a slow start the Tigers are back to .500 and
have bounced back to fourth place in this week's East Tennessee
Sports Writer's Poll.
The Bears have had a tough schedule so
far, but have played well at times. Last week was a hard game against
Grace Christian. Nevertheless, this is a winnable game. Here is how
Tellico can do it: Just tackle the ball carrier. So many times this
year Tellico has found itself in good position to make plays and win
games. Too many times though, giving up the big play has come back to
haunt the Bears.
If the Bears can make sure to handle
plays and come up with stops when they need to, they can come out on
top.
Garret Reno, Bryce Carter, and Devon
Collier must make tackles. I have no doubt the Tellico offense can
score. The offense has improved drastically over the course of the
year as far as execution and understanding of the new play book.
Rockwood can and has turned the ball
over a lot this year. Make some plays on defense and this could be a
steal for the Bears on the road. With just three games left on the
season the Bears need this win. It's a district game and if they
can win on Friday, maybe that confidence leads to a few more. A
record of 4-6 can get you into the playoffs, but you will need some
help.
Adam Reece and Zach
Strickland can make enough plays to win, but the defense will need to
shine on Friday night. Don't be suprised if the boys from Tellico
Plains pull off the upset.
