The Sequoyah Chiefs will look to gain sole possession of the number one spot in 5-AA on Friday night. The only obstacle is the Polk County Wildcats. 

The Wildcats come into this game having already lost twice this season to Bradley Central and Signal Mountain. Polk is certainly beatable as they almost gave one away at home to Sweetwater earlier in the year as well. 

For all the drawbacks to Polk's 5-2 season they are still 2-0 in 5-AA. 

"They are King of the Hill until someone knocks them off," said Sequoyah head coach Bill Satterfield.

Sequoyah certainly has the pieces to knock the Wildcats into second place. The question is can they do it? 

This Chiefs team is ready to climb out of the number two spot. Though the Wildcats have won the district since realignment, this is the first time Sequoyah has had a team capable of winning at Benton. The Chiefs have never done this, but with Brett King, Garrett Dalton, and Blake Huffman they have a great shot. Drew Carson returns this week for a jolt of speed on offense.

Caleb Minor and Ben Hall will get a lot of chances to make plays as Polk will stick to their traditional running game. Forrest McKane and Dustin Webb will need to have good games on the outside, and Rueben Abernathy should contribute as well. With Thomas Spradlin anchoring the middle along with Minor, the Chiefs have enough force up front to stop the Wildcats and climb to the top of 5-AA.
