SWEETWATER-Alert police work by
Sweetwater Police detectives has led to a much larger chop shop
investigation in Meigs County that could involve $300,000 worth or
more of stolen cars.
Sweetwater Police Detectives John
Scruggs and Kevin Watson Thursday investigated the theft of a stolen
truck from the Volunteer Federal Bank parking lot on New Highway 68.
After a traffic stop, SPD charged
Freddie Lennex, Old Sweetwater Road, Sweetwater, and Gwendolyne
Lennex, Ten Mile, in connection with the theft.
SPD charged Freddie Lennex with theft
over $1,000, possession of stolen property over $60,000 and
possession of a prohibited weapon by a convicted felon. Officers
charged Gwendolyne Lennex with possession of stolen property over $60,000, possession of a weapon by convicted felon and possession of
