A man was killed and his passenger
injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 68 in Coker Creek on Sunday.
Eugene C. Waldridge, 48, of Georgetown,
Ind., was killed in the crash at approximately 11:20 a.m., according
to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
His passenger, Rebecca A. Reihm, 54,
also of Georgetown, Ind., was transported to the University of
Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
The Highway Patrol said the two were
riding a 1995 Harley-Davidson northbound when Waldridge lost control
at a curve and left the roadway. He apparently overcorrected,
throwing both riders from the motorcycle.
The helmets worn by both riders were
noncompliant with federal regulations, according to the report. It
isn't known if blood or alcohol was involved, but a standard blood
test will be performed.
