TELLICO PLAINS-A Monroe County
Sheriff's deputy was injured Friday when a suspect allegedly threw
a caustic substance on his face.
Monroe County Sheriff's Detective
Doug Brannon said officers were at a house on Mecca Pike outside of
Tellico Plains looking for a wanted suspect when the incident
occurred.
Deputy Josh Woods said he and others
were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Greg Cathey, 28, Pond
Ridge Road, Tellico Plains, when Cathey took off running toward the
woods. As he was fleeing, he threw a container at Woods and the
