Monroe County Director of Schools Mike
Lowry has been nominated for Tennessee Superintendent of the Year.
Each year, the Tennessee Organization
of School Superintendents (TOSS) selects and honors a Tennessee
Superintendent of the Year. The Tennessee Superintendent of the Year
will be selected from the nine TOSS districts. Each district may
choose their nominee.
Lowry has been chosen as the nominee
from the East District. Lowry has served as the director of schools
in Monroe County since 2007.
"I am very honored just to be
considered for something of this magnitude," said Lowry. "These
are all great people from around the state who do outstanding work
for children. I know all the candidates and they are all exceptional.
I am honored to be in their mist." See full story in the Sunday, Sept. 2, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
