Monroe County Finance Director Libby
Hicks presented county commissioners with a hopefully finalized
budget during a workshop Wednesday, saying the county is in good
shape.
"We had more revenue than expenses
last year," Hicks said. "Overall, 100 percent of money due has
come in. That doesn't mean every department has collected
everything, but overall we're at 100 percent."
Hicks said the extra revenue was
collected in such places as Circuit/Criminal Court ($116,000), sales
tax ($112,000) and property tax ($226,000). See full story in the Sunday, Sept. 2, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
