BRANDON KEYS Sports Editor Sequoyah High School vs. Tellico Plains High School Sequoyah, who is now 4th in class 4A
according to the East Tennessee Sports Writer's Poll, will travel
down to Tellico Plains for a huge game on Friday. Last week the Bears
fell to Sweetwater and will look to rebound in the season's first
home game. The crowd can be a huge factor at Tellico, and that fact
could play into the end result.
The Chiefs dominated Rockwood's
hostile enviornment and won 41-14 in week 0. Sequoyah will try to
win on the road again in week 1. Tellico Plains will have to find a
way to stop the Chief's multi-faceted offense. On the other side,
Sequoyah allowed two rushing scores last week, and might allow more
to the Bear's triple option attack.
The game will be
broadcast on 1250 WRKQ and WRKQ.NET. Sweetwater High School vs. Stone Memorial The Wildcats travel to Stone Memorial
where the only inconvienence they may encounter is the time change.
The Panthers play in the central time zone, and lost badly last week
41-0 to Livingston.
Sweetwater's
mindset this Friday, will likely be same time, same place as they
look to rout the Panthers as well. Stone Memorial will be hard
pressed to stop the talented running attack of Craig Moser's boys.
The Wildcats should come back to Monroe County with a decisive win. These games can sometimes be trap games though. By that I mean the
Wildcats have just come off a rivalry win and perhaps have not
floated back down to earth. If Stone Memorial does pull off the
upset, it will be because it didn't get Sweetwater's best. My
guess is that won't happen. The game will be broadcast on WMTY
98.3.
