SWEETWATER-Sweetwater commissioners
agreed Monday to advertise for bids on repairing the Fire
Department's large aerial truck.
With a very limited number of certified
mechanics to repair the truck, it's likely the job will go to a
mechanic in Knoxville with a cost of around $25,000.
Fire Commissioner Ed Lee said it is
critical the city put the truck back in commission. He said the truck
was obtained with grant money and all in all, the city has not spent
much money on it when you consider the cost of a new large aerial
truck, which is around $750,000.
"This is a piece of equipment we have
to have," Lee said. See full story in the Wednesday, August 8, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
