It was a long, hot Election Day, which brought some major changes to the School Board when the final votes were tallied around 9 a.m.
The 1st District School Board will stay the same, as incumbent Jerry Snyder was unopposed and received 1,081 votes.
But both incumbent 2nd District Monroe County Board of Education members lost.
Janie Harrill, 1,389 votes, and former Director of Schools Bob Lovingood, 1,121, votes, rolled to big win with incumbents David Evans, 741 votes, and Danny Isbill, 681, giving up their board seats. Jeffery D. Roberts and Stephanie Alton finished behind Isbill.
The 3rd District Monroe Board of Education saw one major change.
Incumbent Sonya Martin Lynn kept her seat with 1,009 votes. Steve Rogers, a former School Board member, won the second seat in a close vote over Steve Moore, 851 to 834.
"It's been a long hard race," Lynn said.
Lynn thanked her supporters and said she would continue to work for the children of Monroe County.
But Incumbent Ron Eydt finished fifth with 561 votes to lose his board seat. Kristy Blankenship finished ahead of Eydt with 710 votes.
Mike Shadden rolled to a big win keeping the property assessor's job with 4,229 votes to 2,033 for challenger Bill Wolfe.
"I am very thankful," Shadden said, looking forward to another four-year term.
