Staying at home is what most wish for when either old age or a serious illness comes calling and a business coming to Monroe County wants to help that happen.

Family Home Care Services has been in business for about three years, mainly in the McMinn County area, and is now moving into the Monroe County area.

General Manager Tammy Anderson stressed this not home health care, but a way to help you get things done around the house and take care of other tasks.

"It's personal care assistance and homemaker services," she said. "We help people with everything from bathing to cleaning appliances. And it's need more than most people realize. As people get older than can drift away from society, sometimes to the point where no one ever goes to see them. I once went into a home where the resident hadn't had a bath in months."
