TELLICO PLAINS-A Tellico Plains area couple has had various charges against them, including murder, bound over to the grand jury.

Kimberly Sue Ricker and Wayne Clarence Jones were in Monroe County Sessions Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing on charges connected with the March death of Mary Shaw.

The charges were sent on to the grand jury as they contain felony charges which cannot be heard in sessions court.

Mary Shaw, 79, died March 9, several days after she had reportedly been abused so badly by Kimberly Rickers, 44, that she ended up in Woods Hospital in Etowah. Authorities said Ricker is also known by the names Jones, Maddox, Mitchell and Chastain.
