BY BRANDON KEYS Sports Editor Big changes are happening in Monroe
County. 1250 WRKQ will begin a new chapter in Monroe radio history in
August. The Oldies music station will become Monroe County's
exclusive home for the Vols and Titans.
All Vol football, basketball and Titans
football will air all season long. Sequoyah sports will still air as
priority when shchedules overlap, which shouldn't be much if any.
Station owner Mike Powers is excited about the possibilities.
"For the first time in Monroe radio
history, the Vols will be broadcast from a Monroe station, as will
the Titan," said Powers, adding, "It's a great thing for the
station and the community." See full story in the Sunday, July 8, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
