SWEETWATER-The City of Sweetwater's
Independence Day Celebration on July 4 will once again be an all-day
event that will be fun for the whole family concluding with a
fireworks show to light up the night sky.
Sweetwater Mayor Doyle Lowe, local
businesses and community members have been a driving force to keep
families in Sweetwater and bring visitors to town during the summer's
biggest holiday. This is the third year for the big event and some
new attractions, mainly a 5K race that will lead off the big day.
"The primary purpose is to have
something for the people of Sweetwater to enjoy on the Fourth of
July," Lowe said. "A large event like this brings people from
outside the area to our city and brings good fellowship and fun for
families." See full story in the Sunday, June 17, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
