April Criminal Court round-up

Two Madisonville men facing methamphetamine charges each received eight year prison sentences in Monroe County Criminal Court Monday.

But neither will serve any jail time if they stay out of trouble.

Criminal Court Judge Carroll Ross sentenced Dustin Lynn Rogers, 24, Highway 411 Madisonville, to eight years on a charge of initiating the process to manufacture, but suspended the sentence, giving him credit for three days served.

Rogers, who was arrested on January 17 of this year, must complete a drug rehab program and attend action counseling. Rogers also received an 11/29 suspended sentence on a charge of domestic assault.

Ross also sentenced Gary Wallace, 31, Anderson Road, Madisonville, to eight years on a charge of initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine. The charge stemmed from a April 2010 arrest.

Wallace was given credit for eight days served, and must enter and complete a treatment program at Miracle Lake to meet his probation requirements.

Other pleas heard in criminal court included:

Timothy Wiley Raper, 45, Old Tellico Road, Madisonville, aggravated burglary, four years suspended after 30 days; theft of property, two years suspended; two counts interference with a utility or railroad, two years suspended each count.

Gilbert L. Croft, 56, Pumpkin Hollow Road, Madisonville, tried on child rape charge, found guilty of assault, sentencing set for June 27.

Gabrel Cam Ogle, 26, Sweetwater/Vonore Road, Sweetwater, theft of property, 11/29 suspended, make restitution; theft of property $1,000-$10,000, dismissed.

Taryn Rachell Ogle, 20, H Street, Sweetwater, theft of property, 11/19 suspended, make restitution; theft of property $1,000-$10,000, dismissed.

Keisha Ann Wallace, 30, Anderson Road, Madisonville, simple possession of methamphetamine, 11/29 suspended.

Michael Ray Harmon, 26, Creek Road, Sweetwater, two counts aggravated assault, four years suspended each count.

Eric Gilbert Hedstrom, 72, Fagin Lane, Madisonville, DUI, $365, 11/29 suspended after 48 hours.

Richard Moore, 35, Poplar Avenue, Sweetwater, possession of marijuana, $350, 11/29 suspended.

Travis John Stringfield, 26, Niles Ferry Road, Madisonville, theft of property over $10,000, three years suspended, make restitution.

Donna Cagle, 44, Young Drive, Sweetwater, promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine, $2,000, two years suspended.

James L. Smith Jr., 34, Smith Road, Philadelphia, three charges forgery, 14 years total at 35 percent; two counts theft of property $1,000-$10,000, six years each at 35 percent, sentences to run concurrently.

Andrew M. Vogt, 37, address unavailable, evading arrest, four years suspended after 45 days; reckless driving, six months suspended.

Dumetree J. Foster, 18, address unavailable, facilitation of aggravated robbery, three years suspended, no contact with victims, must not possess any weapon, will testify in trial of other defendants.

Indictments handed down by the grand jury in April included:

David Lee Borden, 29, County Road 157, Englewood, theft over $500, status hearing June 27.

George Lee Buchanan Jr., 35, County Road 361, Niota, vehicular assault, $350, four years suspended after 28 days; violation of financial responsibility, 30 days suspended; DUI, dismissed.

Shawn DeWayne Bunch, 31, New Highway 68, Tellico Plains, aggravated assault, status hearing June 27.

Kenneth Bryan Burns, 48, Hooper Road, Madisonville, initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine, pled guilty, sentencing set for June 27.

Larry Butler Jr., 34, Mountain View Drive, Vonore, custodial interference, status hearing June 27.

Julie Coker, 35, Sunflower Circle, Sweetwater, vandalism, status hearing May 16.
