This year, the Tellico Community Players will present a total of three comedy productions - "Those Crazy Ladies In The House On The Corner" by Pat Cook (Feb. 17-20); "Bus Stop" (May 20-22); and "Death and Taxes" (October 14-16).
Tickets area $20 and are on sale now for the hilarious season opener by Pat Cook about three aging sisters (reminiscent of The Golden Girls TV hit) at three locations in Tellico Village: BB&T Bank and Village Salon in Village Square, and the Kahite Clubhouse Grill.
Director Len Willis (assisted by Doug Bannister) has cast Debbie Mayberry, Amy Jo Smith and Karen Couden in the lead roles, and their saga will unfold Feb. 17, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and at a 2 p.m. matinee showing Feb. 20. Those crazy geriatric sisters, who all talk at the same time like magpies, will attempt to stave off their conniving nephew from selling their home and will fight Doc Lomax from sending in an unwanted nurse to attend them.
The comedy will ensue on-stage at the Grand Vista Resort's Tellico West Conference Center, located just off Highway 72 inside the Industrial Park between Tellico Village and the town of Vonore.
Doors will open 45 minutes prior to each performance on a first-come, first-served seating basis. A cash bar will be on hand.
The cast also includes Doug Bannister as Doc Lomax, Joan Taylor as Nurse Jean Mitchell, Steve Mayberry as Calvin Murphy, Nelson Ledbetter as the Crazy Ladies' conniving nephew Phillip Van Horn, Ku Adams as Jessie, and a surprise performer as Blue the delivery man.
A sizeable stage crew, headed by producer Nick Brancik and assistant producer Ted Taylor, is in place, and the set construction has been completed for this great production. Directions to Grand Vista are conveniently printed on the back of each ticket.
