A Madisonville man was arrested Thursday after police found drugs in his home while investigating a domestic violence call.
Police arrived after a woman called 911 and said Ben Tillman Haralson, 32, Boring Street, was assaulting her. Madisonville Captain Danny Russell said the woman had visible scratches on her neck, face and back and that Haralson appeared to be the primary aggressor.
While officers were on the scene, Patrolman Steve Sloan said he received a call from Detective Darron Bivens saying there was suspected drug activity at the house. Sloan asked the woman if they could search the house and she said to go ahead.
Sloan said he found a tin can in the children's playroom under a dresser containing several Hydrocodone pills and a large sum of money. He also found suspected methamphetamine in a bottle in a clothes drawer.
Haralson is charged with domestic abuse, reckless endangerment, possession of a Schedule II narcotic and possession of methamphetamine.
