A Sweetwater man who has been in jail for nearly a year, pleaded guilty to a cocaine related charge in Monroe County Criminal Court this week.

Anthony McSpadden, 40, West Street, Sweetwater, was arrested by Sweetwater Police in August 2008 after he sold less than half a gram of cocaine on two different occasions.
West was arrested after his case was taken to the grand jury and that body felt there was enough evidence to warrant his being brought to court.

McSpadden has been in jail since Feb. 11 of last years and will receive credit for that time served. He received six years for each charge of selling the cocaine and four years for being a habitual motor vehicle offender, totaling 16 years.

But all the sentences will be served concurrently at 35 percent, meaning with the time served, McSpadden could be released in a few months.

Cory Gardner, 25, County Farm Road, Madisonville, theft of property $1,000-$10,000, two years suspended, make restitution.

Kevin Debety, 23, Debety Road, Tellico Plains, filing a false report, two years suspended; tampering with evidence, three years suspended.

Doug Allen, 45, Scenic River Road, Madisonville, promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine, $2,000, three years suspended; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, dismissed.

Mark A. Davis, 37, Starrett Street, Sweetwater, simple possession of marijuana, $2,000, 11/29 suspended.

Ronald L. Woods, 45, Laurel Creek Road, Madisonville, promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine, $2,000, three years suspended.

Jason K. Gibson, 35, Ball Play Road, Madisonville, promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine, $2,000, two years suspended after 30 days; possession of drug paraphernalia, $250, 11/29 suspended.

Bradley John Gordon, 29, Warren Street, Madisonville, aggravated assault, three years suspended.
