Cold weather does not seem to have hampered criminal activity in the county, as local police agencies made numerous drug and other arrests during the last few days.

On Thursday, Vonore Police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office issued several charges against Lorenz James Freeman Jr., 21, Presley Road, Vonore, after a police pursuit that originated in Loudon County before ending with the suspect wrecking in Vonore.
Vonore officers were notified of the chase and spotted the car before losing sight of the vehicle as it sped away on Brakebill Road.

Vonore officers said they later found Freeman and a female companion with head injuries walking along Brakebill Road toward Highway 72 West.
Their car was found after it had struck a utility pole, officers said.
Officers charged Freeman with DUI, failure to report an accident, and felony fleeing.

Stabbing in Madisonville
On Saturday evening, Madisonville Police responded to a stabbing on Patterson Street.
Officers determined Johnathan Lee Charles, 27, Middle Creek Lane, had stabbed James Lee Alcorn in the back with a 5 to 6-inch knife.

Alcorn was standing in the yard when police arrived, however the suspect had fled.
The Sheriff's Office said Charles was later taken into custody on an aggravated assault warrant and was still in jail as of early Monday afternoon.

Drug arrests
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department made three drug arrests after executing a search warrant at an Old Sweetwater Road residence Friday.
According to warrants filed by Narcotics Officer Conway Mason, Franky Robinette, 42, and Ryan Robinette, 20, were each charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (Oxycodone), possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) for resale, possession of a Schedule III drug (Xanax) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mason said officers found Franky Robinette in bed with a glass smoking pipe in his hand with white residue inside that appeared to be methamphetamine.
Officers allegedly found 3 grams of suspected meth in the home, a set of scales, corner-cut baggies to store the drugs, Oxycodone and Xanax pills.
According to Mason, officers found Ryan Robinette in the kitchen at the time of the search and he received the same charges.

Troy Kiser, who also has the same address listed as Franky and Ryan Robinette, was charged with possession of marijuana after the search.
