The Lady Chiefs of Sequoyah Tuesday night faced, with the exception of McMinn Central, the toughest opponent they will face all year.
The Lady Chiefs struggled for most of the game to find a rhythm and fell to the sharp shooting Heritage Lady Mountaineers 73-25.

Sequoyah scored the first three points of the game with a basket from Haley Simpson and a free throw from Carissa Cardin to take a 3-0 lead, but Heritage quickly took the lead and never looked back as they stormed out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter.
The Lady Chiefs showed some spurts of stability throughout the game, but the quickness and toughness of the Heritage defense controlled the game.

Heritage hit as many 3-pointers (12) as they did regular field goals (12).
The turnover difference played a big part in the game, as the Lady Chiefs committed 23 to Heritage's three. Heritage converted almost all of Sequoyah's turnovers into points, while Sequoyah only turned one of the three Heritage turnovers into points.
Heritage's duo of Katerina Morris and Lauren Burnett combined for 38 points. Morris shot 7 of 10 from long range and Burnett went 3 of 11. Sequoyah only hit 1 of 11 from downtown with Amber Linkous dropping one late in the game.

The Lady Chiefs were led by Simpson with 11, Cardin eight, and Danielle Slack and Linkous with three each.
The Lady Chiefs will host Loudon Thursday night in another Hall of Fame game at 6 p.m.
