Avalanche baseball will hold tryouts for the spring on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.
The Avalanche is a traveling team that plays teams from the surrounding area, including teams from McMinn, Knox, and Monroe Counties.
To be eligible, players cannot turn 12 years of age before June 1.

Stringers Needed
Stringers are needed to help cover basketball in Monroe County.
Anyone interested in helping cover middle school and high school basketball can contact sports editor Corbitt Hollingsworth by phone at 337-7101 or by e-mail at sportseditor@advocateanddemocrat.com.
This includes submitting pictures and information from various games to help track of what is going on in Monroe County basketball.

Tellico Plains Alumni Center
Tellico Plains High School needs your help.
When the Alumni Center is finished TPHS will have a place where all past alumni can relive their glory days and students of today can learn about Tellico High School history.
There will also be a state of the art weight room where the present and future athletes can train to make their own history.
Help in finishing the Alumni Center.
