Vonore Youth Football
Sign-ups
Vonore Youth Sports will be holding sign-ups for football and cheerleading on June 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Vonore Elementary School gym.
Sign-up fees are $40 per child or $80 per family. Hardships waivers are available.

Fundamentals of Basketball Camp
Tellico Plain's Fundamentals of Basketball Camp will be held on June 22, 23, 25, and 26 from 6-9 p.m. at the Tellico Plains Junior High gym.
The cost is $35 and the camp is for boys and girls entering the third-eighth grades.
The camp cost will be $25 each for two or more siblings.
Players will rotate through stations with players of their own age to better develop fundamental basketball skills.
Competitive games, T-shirts, awards, and evaluation sheets will be available for all campers.

Sgt. Joey Hunt Fishing Tournament
The Joey Hunt Memorial Bass Club (JHMBC) Tournament is held every Thursday evening on Watts Bar Lake.
 Blast off and weigh-in is out of Whaley's Boat Ramp on Hwy 72, approximately two miles west of I -75.
Although individuals may fish alone, this is a two-person team event with an entry fee of $30 per boat, which includes a $5 big fish pot (paid weekly) and a $5 Classic Fee.
A $10 membership fee is required on an angler's first night of fishing.
The club's finale will be the JHMBC Classic on September 19.
One hundred percent of all membership fees are paid out at the annual Classic Event.
 In addition, Classic winners receive a plaque that bears the image of Sgt. Hunt to keep in their possession until the following year's event is held.  
All amateur fishermen are welcome to participate.

Tellico Youth Football
The Tellico Plains Youth Football program extends an invitation to any player from Madisonville, Sweetwater, Tellico Plains, and Vonore to sign-up for its youth program.
 Tellico is a member of the SETAC Conference, which allows players to play their natural position instead of being limited to certain positions due to their weight.
Sign-ups will be July 13 at the Tellico youth football fields at 6 p.m.

CTS Football Camp
The third-annual Champions Training for Success football camp will be held June 22-26 at the Sweetwater Recreation Complex. Football players of all skill levels are invited.
Players ages 6-12 will attend camp June 22 and 23 and the cost is $75.
Ages 13 and up will attend June 24-26 and the cost is $125.
Campers can be registered on the day of camp.

Tellico Plains Alumni Center
Tellico Plains High School needs your help.
When the Alumni Center is finished TPHS will have a place where all past alumni can relive their glory days and students of today can learn about Tellico High School history.
There will also be a state of the art weight room where the present and future athletes can train to make their own history.
Help in finishing the Alumni Center.
Become an Alumni Booster member or make a donation.

Stringers Needed
Stringers are needed to help cover fall sports in Monroe County. Anyone interested in covering high school or youth football, volleyball, or girls' soccer can contact sports editor Corbitt Hollingsworth by phone at 337-7101 or by e-mail at sportseditor@advocateanddemocrat.com.
This includes submitting pictures and information from various games to help track of what is going on in Monroe County sports.
We want to get the teams as much coverage as possible and help will be needed to do so.
Prior experience is not necessary, just a willingness to help out.
