This Sunday, June 21, kicks off a summer long "Concert & Entertainment Series" being held at Hidden Lake Campground and Resort in Tellico Plains. The series of events is designed to be fun for the whole family while benefiting various Monroe County non-profit organizations to create more of an awareness as to who they are and what they do.
The first event will be a Christian Rock Festival being held Sunday, June 21 at 2 p.m. This will be a free concert with donations being accepted to benefit the Good Shepherd Center. The next scheduled event will be "Movies Under the Stars", an outdoor movie experience which will begin at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 25. Movies will be shown every Thursday evening throughout the summer. This event will be free with donations being accepted to benefit the Monroe County Red Cross.
On Saturday, July 18, a Bluegrass Festival will be held. Cost will be $5 per person at the gate. Children age 13 and under are free. Gate fees will benefit the Monroe County Boys & Girls Club. If you're interested in playing at this event, contact Mark Ewers at (423) 295-2161.
Future events will be announced as dates are set. So bring the whole family and enjoy the outdoors, good music and entertainment. Food and refreshments are also available. For more information, visit www.monroecountychamber.org or call (423) 442-4588.
