The City of Madisonville is reminding it's customers of the ongoing policy of cross-connection. The City of Madisonville is required to annually check existing backflow devices that are installed in the distribution system. Testing will be performed by a qualified individual holding a valid certificate. Test procedures and equipment will conform to the lastest, Edition of Cross-Connection Control, Test reports of backflow prevention devices will be stored as a part of the water systems permanent records, as well as being added to a master list of devices. Also, the customers that have existing back flow devices are reminded that the cost of testing, maintenance, and or repair of said devices is the customers responsibility. Therefore, all customers with a back flow device will be billed on an annual basis. This will be a separate biling fromm the monthly bill. The Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Sweetwater will hold a called meeting during their regular monthly workshop, which will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 due to the Memorial Day holiday. The meeting will start at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall. During the callled meeting, the board will take action on Ordinance No. 899 to amend Title 2, Chapter 2 of the Sweetwater Municipal Code on first reading. Copies of the ordinance and agenda are available at City Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
