A camp designed to give softball players that want to improve their skills will be offered June 15-17 from 9 a.m.-noon at Sweetwater High School. The camp, led by Sweetwater assistant Steve Cooper, former UT-Chattanooga player Carey Cooper, and Anderson County baseball coach Ben Downs, will consist of a variety of lessons in hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and the concept of team play. This camp is designed for players 6 and up. The camp will cost $60. A limited number of spots are available. Vonore Youth Football Sign-ups Vonore Youth Sports will be holding sign-ups for football and cheerleading on June 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Vonore Elementary School gym. Sequoyah Booster Meeting The Team Sequoyah Athletic Boosters monthly meeting will be held on June 16 at 7 p.m. in the Sequoyah High School cafeteria. Cheerleading Camp The Sweetwater High School basketball cheerleaders will be hosting a cheer camp June 17-19 at the Sweetwater High School cafeteria. Fundamentals of Basketball Camp Tellico Plain’s Fundamentals of Basketball Camp will be held on June 22, 23, 25, and 26 from 6-9 p.m. at the Tellico Plains Junior High gym. The cost is $35 and the camp is for boys and girls entering the third-eighth grades. The camp cost will be $25 each for two or more siblings. Players will rotate through stations with players of their own age to better develop fundamental basketball skills. Competitive games, T-shirts, awards, and evaluation sheets will be available for all campers. CTS Football Camp The third-annual Champions Training for Success football camp will be held June 22-26 at the Sweetwater Recreation Complex. Football players of all skill levels are invited. Players ages 6-12 will attend camp June 22 and 23 and the cost is $75. Ages 13 and up will attend June 24-26 and the cost is $125.
