The Sweetwater Quarterback Club will have a meeting on July 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the press box at the high school’s football field. 

Everyone is invited.

Vonore Youth Sports Elections

Election of officers for the 2008-09 fiscal year will take place on Monday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. at the football field bleachers. 

Board meetings will be held on the last Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Vonore Elementary School gym. 

Dates for the meetings are as follows: July 26, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 23, Dec. 28. 

Anyone wanting to put an item on the agenda must submit the request in writing to SBsportsmomDawn@aol.com at least 10 days before the meetings.

Hunter’s Education Class

There will be a hunter’s education class Aug. 25-29 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. nightly.

Sweetwater AYSO Registration

Registration for Sweetwater AYSO’s fall league will be held Saturday, July 26 and Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater.

Stringers Needed

Stringers are needed to help cover fall sports in Monroe County. 

Anyone interested in covering girls’ soccer, volleyball, or football (high school and youth league) can contact sports editor Corbitt Hollingsworth by phone at 337-7101 or by e-mail at sportseditor@advocateanddemocrat.com. 

We want to get the teams as much coverage as possible and help will be needed to do so. 

Prior experience is not necessary, just a willingness to help out.

Tellico Plains Alumni Center

Tellico Plains High School needs your help. When the Alumni Center is finished TPHS will have a place where all past alumni can relive their glory days and students of today can learn about Tellico High School history. 

There will also be a state of the art weight room.
