Trudy Lee Walker Farrell

Trudy Lee Walker Farrell of Sweetwater, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, at the home of her mother.  A member of Fairview Baptist Tabernacle in Sweetwater, she was a 20-year veteran educator currently serving as a 5th-grade classroom teacher with Brown Intermediate School with the Sweetwater City School System. 

Trudy served as a volunteer with Kids world, Habitat for Humanity, and Knoxville Union Rescue Mission. 

She was 44.

Preceded in death by: her father: Austin Ford Walker. 

Survivors include: husband of 10 years-Jerry D. Farrell;

Son-Elijah Austin Farrell;

Stepson-Michael Shawn Farrell, all of Sweetwater;

Mother-Zelma Lee Guy Walker of Oak Ridge;

Sister-Penelope Dawn Walker of Oak Ridge;

Brother-Larry David Walker of Knoxville;

Father-in-law and mother-in-law-Jerry Lee and Carole Ann Farrell of Sweetwater;

Sister-in-law-Pamela Denise Farrell of Paint Rock;

Numerous family and friends.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Fairview Baptist Tabernacle Church in Sweetwater from 4-8 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Carr officiating.  Interment will be at 2 p.m., Sunday in the Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Education Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, or Habitat for Humanity.  Kyker  Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
