Barbara Hicks Duke

Barbara Hicks Duke of Sweetwater, passed away suddenly at
5:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at Sweetwater Hospital. Her loving presence will
be sadly missed, but ever present in our hearts. She was a member of Lee's
Chapel Baptist Church and also attended Watson Chapel Baptist Church. She was a
member of Ladies Auxiliary Post #5156, loved to bowl in a bowling league and
was employed as a security guard at Aztec Corporation in Loudon for more than
10 years.
She was 65.
Preceded in death by: husband, Walt Duke; father, Raymond
Hicks; grandparents, Homer and Ollie Hicks and Liddie and Raymond Stafford.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law-Teresa and
Wallace Lawson;
Precious granddaughter-Julie Lawson;
Loving mother-Ruby Hicks;
Second Mom-Reba Campbell;
Sisters and brothers-in-law-Brenda and Don Underwood, Linda
and Junior Phillips and Sandy and Bill Simmons, all of Sweetwater;
Brother and sister-in-law-Dennis and Christine Hicks of
Madisonville;
Special friend-John Hitson of Sweetwater;
A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins;
Special nieces-Mareshal and Faith Phillips of Sweetwater;
and Kernessa Davis of Madisonville.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, in Biereley-Hale
Chapel with Rev. Russ Cooper and Rev. Bruce Vincent officiating. Interment will
be in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral
