Linton E. Britton of Tellico Plains, passed away at 2:50
a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, at East Tennessee Healthcare. He was the oldest member
and deacon of Fairview Baptist Church.
He was 84.
Preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Iva Mae Britton;
sister, Myrtle Isbill; brothers, J.C., Leon, Nathan, Howard and Ray Britton.
Survivors include: wife-Altha Britton;
Sons and daughters-in-law-Billy and Janice Britton of New
York; Blake and Athelene Britton, Dennis and Francis Britton, all of
Madisonville; and James and Judy Britton of Cleveland;
Grandchildren-Brenda Cramer, Bill Jr., Tina Vredenburg,
Regina Hulse, Amanda Williams, Stacey, Adam, Matt and Michelle Britton;
Thirteen great-grandchildren;
Sisters-Ellen Bradley of Maryville; Dorothy Cook of Tellico
Plains; Mildred Klemp of Ohio; and Darlene Sloan of Sweetwater;
Brothers-Glen Britton of Madisonville; and Clifford Britton
of Georgia;
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, at Fairview Baptist
Church, Tellico Plains, with Rev. John Kiser and Rev. Kenny Isbill officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Kiser officiating. Friends
may call at their convenience after 4 p.m., Saturday, at Fairview Baptist
Church. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
