Robert Eugene Underwood

Robert Eugene “Bob” Underwood of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6.  He attended Union McMinn Baptist Church of Niota. 

He was 72.

Preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Wattenbarger Underwood; parents, Will and Gussie Hill Underwood; sister, Cleo Underwood; brother, Harvey Underwood.

Survivors include: stepson and wife-J.C.  and Diane Crabtree Jr.;

Grandson and wife-John and Michelle Crabtree;

Great-grandsons-Spencer and Matthew Crabtree, all  of Decatur;

Sisters and brother-in-law-Alphenia Key of Ooltewah; Rosteen Price of Knoxville; Lorene and David Powers and Peggy Mashburn, all of Athens;

Brothers and sisters-in-law-T.F. “Bud” and Peggy Underwood of Bristol, Va.; Cecil and Marie Underwood of Decatur;

Sister-in-law-Julia Underwood of Athens;

Daughter-in-law and husband-Ronnie and Vickie McCulloch of Sweetwater;

Several nieces and nephews. 

The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Kenneth King officiating. Interment to follow in the Beulah Chapel of the Nazarene Cemetery. Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
