REQUEST FOR BID
Pursuant to T.C.A. ^ 5-21-118, bids will be accepted in the Office of the Director of Finance; McMinn County Courthouse; 6 East Madison Avenue; Athens, TN 37303 until 2:00 P.M. May 24, 2013 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and announced for the following:
FURNISH ALL LABOR, TOOLS, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT TO
REPAIR ROOFS AT NIOTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
IF The Submitted Bid Exceeds $25,000.00
1. All bidders will be required to provide a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Lump Sum Bid Price with their bid. The successful bidder shall provide a Performance Bond for 100% and Payment Bond for 100% of the bid price. Bond may be in the form of cash, cashier's check, certified check, construction surety bond, or irrevocable letter of credit.
2. Bidders must be licensed general contractors in compliance with the provisions of Tennessee Code Annotated ^ 62-6-et. seq. The license holder shall be identified by the name in which such license has been issued. The name of the Licensee, the License Number, License Expiration date, License Limitation, Classification, Name of the Project, Date of the Bid Opening, and the Opening Time must be placed on the outside of the envelope containing the Contractor's bid. Bid envelopes that do not contain such required information will not be opened nor considered. If applicable, the Contractor must also list each of its major subcontractors (i.e., Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical) Names and License Numbers, License Limitation and Classification on the bid envelope using the form provided. Otherwise, such bid will not be considered. All bids must be submitted in one sealed envelope.
3. Proof as to the contractor's qualifications may be required to be submitted to the Owner's Representative prior to bid approval.
THE FOLLOWING THREE (3) FORMS SHALL ALSO BE ENCLOSED IN THE SEALED ENVELOPE WITH THE BID:
Bidders will be required to submit a Drug Free Workplace Affidavit as required under the provisions of T.C.A ^ 50-9-113. The affidavit states that employers with five (5) or more employees who contract with either the State or a local government to provide construction services are required to submit an affidavit stating that they have a drug free workplace program that complies with Title 50, Chapter 9.
In addition, bidders will be required to submit a affidavit that they are in compliance with Public Charter 587.
It is the policy of the Government of McMinn County Tennessee not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability in it's hiring and employment practices, or in admission to, access to, or operation of it's programs, services, and activities. All contractors, and subcontractors will be required to sign a Title VI Contract Assurance Form stating that their company complies with this policy.
All bidders must comply with the insurance and other requirements listed in the construction documents.
No bidder will be permitted to withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days following the date of the opening.

Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M.
Detailed construction documents and bid forms may be picked up on or after May 13, 2013 at the Office of the Director Finance, McMinn County Courthouse, 6 East Madison Avenue, Athens, TN 37303 for a charge of $100.00. The full amount of the deposit will be returned to all contractors submitting a bona fide bid, except the apparent low bidder, upon return of all documents in good condition within ten (10) days after the date of opening of bid. The apparent low bidder's deposit will be retained for payment of the cost of bidding documents and will not be returned. CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE MCMINN COUNTY TRUSTEE.
McMinn County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to accept the bid, or any portion thereof, that in it's judgment will be for the best interest of McMinn County.

Notice is hereby given that on the 30th day of April, 2013, Letters Testamentary (or of Administration as the case may be) in respect of the estate of Dennis H. Tallent, Sr., deceased, who died June 6, 2012 were issued to the undersigned by the Chancery Court (Probate Division) of McMinn County, Tennessee. All persons, resident and non-resident, having claims, matured or un-matured, against the estate are required to file the same with the clerk of the chancery court on or before the earlier of the dates prescribed in (1) or (2) otherwise their claims will be forever barred:

THE TOWN OF DECATUR intends to file an application for financial assistance with USDA/Rural Development for water system improvements. A Public Information Meeting for all interested parties will be held on May 14, 2013 at 7:00 at the Decatur Municipal Building.
